宇宙飛行士向井千秋さん 向井さん再び宇宙へ・応援Eメールメッセージを送ろう
このニュースを聞いて、さっそく次のようなメッセージを送りました。「私たちは、1994年向井さんのはじめての宇宙飛行を記念して宇宙への旅という縦1.7m、横2.4mの陶板大作を作りました。機会があったら見に来て下さい。もし良かったら受け取って下さい」
After hearing this news we sent a message to Mrs.Mukai like this:
We made a plaque named `Journey through space` which is 1.7 high, 2.4 wide. Please visit to see and receive this.

これがきっかけで、宇宙開発事業団と陶板寄贈の話が進み、向井さんが日本に戻った時、筑波宇宙開発センターで贈呈式を行うとなりました。
After sending this e-mail, when Mrs.Mukai came back to japan, we decided to have a presentation ceremory at the Tsykuba Space Development Center.
９９年６月１０日 私たちは宇宙人と向井さんは楽しいお話を Everyone met Mrs.Mukai and had a good time.
向井さんは私たちを宇宙センターの入り口で、30人一人一人に握手をして出迎えてくださいました。
At the entrace of the Center, Mrs.Mukai greeted us and shook hands with all thirty students.

宇宙センターに飾られた「宇宙への旅」は展示スポットライトをあびて、施設の踊り場にあるときより何倍も輝いていました。
Under the spotlights of the Space Center,`Journey through Space` looked better than in the institutaion Taiyo No Ie.

向井さんは１ｃｍの粘土粒で模様を描いた、制作過程をビデオでちゃんと見てくださってました。
Before meeting us, Mrs.Mukai had already watched the video, which dealt with the process of making the plaque.
壁画を見ながら「一粒ひとつぶに、宇宙へ思いを込めて作った大壁画をくださって有り難う、良い記念品になりうれしい、これからここを訪れる人に努力・協力の大切さが伝わり、また宇宙をすきになるきっかけになる」とお話をいただきました。
Looking at the plaque, she said "Thank you for making such a big plaque, dedicating your hearts to space. I `m glad to have such a souvenir. This plaque will show visitors the importance of effort and cooperation. Besides thanks to the plaque, they will like space."
向井さんと一緒に９日間の旅をしたというNASA認定書付き宇宙開発事業団小旗セットを施設に、一人一人には「夢に向かってもう一歩 向井千秋1999.6.10」と書かれた直筆色紙と沢山のnasdaグッズのおみやげをいただきました。
Mrs. Mukai gave many NASDA gifts, including a flag of the Space Development corparation set written the NASA Certificate and a paper written "One more step to your dream" to the students of center.
向井さんは、みんなからの質問に答える形で、「宇宙へ飛び立ったときは長い訓練の成果が生かされたと大変うれしかった。
宇宙から見るふるさと地球はきれいだった。宇宙もすきだけど地球も大好き。きれいな地球に住めて幸せ。地球も宇宙のなかの一つと良く分かった。
She realized her training was over, her journey had begun. And she said " Earth seen from space was so beautiful". She likeds both, Earth and Space and felt so lucky to live on a beautiful planet And she realized that earth is one with the space.向井さんが宇宙で聞いていた「ふるさと」を一緒にうたい贈呈式を締めくくりました。
２日後にアメリカでの仕事に出掛けるという忙しいなか長い時間をとってくださったことに感謝し、沢山記念撮影をして、見送って下さる向井さんとお別れしました。
At the end presentation ceremony we sang together " Hurusato", which Mrs.Mukai used to listen while in space. Thank you for making time for us even though Mrs. Mukai had to leave for USA in 2 days.
向井さん、この機会を作って下さった宇宙開発事業団の皆さん有り難うございました。
Thank you for this oppotunity to Mrs. Mukai and everyone of Space Development Corparation.
